Description
This little drawing was partly inspired by the phrase, 'canary in a coal mine'. (Canaries are sensitive to toxins in the air, so miners actually brought them along in the tunnels with them as protection.)
Canaries also reflect many symbols, which in my image is cheerfulness and good fortune.
This is the original art, from part of a series I'm creating for use in my prints and note cards.
Original prismacolor pencils on black cardstock paper. Gold edging painted on mat. Artwork measures 4.5 x 6.5, with mat 8x10 plus frame.
