Oxidized sterling silver and 24k gold, this is one piece from my newest collection called “Galaxy”. In this collection, designs reminiscent of a starry night are made using the ancient Korean technique of keum-bo. I have fused 24k gold to the surface of sterling silver and then oxidized it for contrast. The contrast of the rich 24k gold color against the softly oxidized and textured sterling silver is lovely. The texture I have chosen is one that I have cut myself from thick paper and applied to my metal by roller printing it. The polka dot design creates a subtle background texture for my keum-bo design. This patterned texture is one that is uniquely mine and will not be seen on anyone else’s designs. To further play up the dotted starry night design, I have removed the oxidation from some of the dots. The end result is gorgeous with silver and 24k gold dots playing against a beautifully softly oxidized and brushed, textured background. The contemporary designs of this collection compliment this ancient technique beautifully for one-of-a-kind pieces that you can be assured will be uniquely yours! Each piece is one-of-a-kind. If you would like a piece custom made please be sure to ask. These earrings measure 2 3/4" in length from top to bottom and are 1" wide across the widest area which is the half-moon top component. They dangle gracefully and have great movement. The two-part dangle component measures 2 1/4" in length. Gold-filled ear wires as shown have a decorative sterling silver ball detail. They complement the gold and silver tones of the earrings beautifully. A rubber stopper on each back holds them securely in place. If you would prefer a sterling silver lever-back ear wire, please choose that option and I will switch it out for you.These ear wires feature a hinged closure that helps protect against loss and makes this earring a snap to put on. Simply insert the wire and close the lever over it to secure the earring in place! Either of these choices of ear wires are of the highest quality and are a lovely compliment to the quality of workmanship in this pair of handmade earrings! Gift Wrap as shown is free!
