We are proud to present original rare gourmet items from the Ojibwe people and the Minnesota northland centering around natural hand harvested Wild Rice of Minnesota. These products are still available, and they come with the stories of their origins. For example, the wild rice used to make this pancake and waffle mix is hand harvested from natural rice beds in the traditional way on reservations’ lakes and rivers. The Ojibwe people pole their canoes through the rice and use wooden batons to knock it into the canoes. Then the rice is hand parched using wood, not gas, to preserve the aroma and the natural brown-green color.
What’s in the box:
One-pound flour sack bag with MN Native American made Wild Rice Pancake Mix. We love this pancake mix, not only for the great flavor, and sustainable processes, but because it can also be used to make waffles and muffins. The recipes for all three are printed on the back of the four sack bag. All natural, no preservatives, and made by hand with Minnesota grown wild rice.
One 9.5-ounce Northland Chokecherry Jelly. This jelly is made from Minnesota hand harvested berries that are only grown in the summer months, so we stock up when we can. Chokecherries can be found throughout the US and have a rich strong flavor. The dark red berries are also favorites of domestic birds, they turn purple-black when they are overripe and great for flavoring, on toast, or any snack.
