Madonna & Child

Madonna and Child is a miniature reproduction of a Renaissance painting by Benozzo Gozzoli painted between 1480-85. The original is painted with tempera and gold leaf on a wood panel. It now hangs in the National Museum of San Matteo, Pisa Calci, Italy. This ornament is made with many layers of embossed foil medallions, called Dresden trims. They are handmade in Germany on 150-year-old machines. The Victorians used these same foil medallions in making their ornaments! This ornament is very LIGHTWEIGHT, as it’s made from PAPER! So it can hang at the end of the branch where it can be seen! This ornament will make a beautiful addition to your Christmas tree and become part of your family’s special Holiday Tradition.
