I escaped from communist Romania in 1982. I spent 6 months in a refugee camp, came to the US, met my wife and began a new life. I have had many jobs and have found my passion.
I am a self taught artist, inspired by the beautiful lacy pattern inside the black walnut shell that I was exposed to one our first visit to my wife's grandma. It intrigued me and noodled around in the back of my mind for years. When our children were launched, I had time to investigate my curiosity. I began making crosses as gifts for family and friends. Then my wife wanted table favors for Thanksgiving and the Nutwhat critters were born. It took years of trial and error to discover the right saw blade, glues, harvesting and husking techniques etc to begin seriously pursuing this as a career. I began adding stained glass to make beautiful sun catchers. The variety of item keeps evolving, limited only by imagination! Items range from refrigerator magnets to dining room tables!
