Original oil on canvas framed in "floating" whitewashed wooden frame to expose gallery wrap. Canvas size is 30"H x 20"W. My frames add 3" to the height/width dimensions of the canvas size. Framed dimensions are 23" H x 33" W. Dimensions noted below are for the shipping crate if shipping via FedEx. Growing up in Beaumont, TX, I loved watching the pilot boats bring in the large oil tankers to Magnolia (now ExxonMobil) Refinery where my parents worked. I've painted the unique boats of the Sabine Neches pilots, Matagorda Bay pilots, Freeport pilots and others associations at work. These pilots perform a dangerous but vital job in keeping our shipping lanes and ports open safely.

I paint in studio with oils on canvas from photographs I take as I travel the coastal South. I have such wonderful memories of growing up at the beach on the Bolivar Peninsula that I am particularly drawn to paint coastal birds, boats and landscapes near the shore. I was born and raised in Beaumont, TX and graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design from our hometown university, Lamar University. After a career in advertising, I returned to my first love - painting.
