This is an original acrylic painting on stretched 18x24 inch canvas. This is part of a series titled "Little Astronaut" which features an astronaut on a mission, but what that mission is isn't always clear. This piece is titled "Space Racer". It was on expedition in Taipei in 2018 at an international art event, featured at my solo show "Going Places" at GP Deva in Beverly Hills in 2019, and was on display at a local juried art show here in Orlando, FL area March of 2020. This little astronaut pedals around! This piece is currently back in my studio available for sale direct through me.
This piece ships mounted on it's original stretcher bar wooden frame. Edges have been painted black and measure 3/4" thick. I have signed the front and also signed, titled, and dated on the back. A clear acrylic coating has been applied to the top of this piece to both protect and enhance the colors giving it a fresh painted look. This piece does not come with a decorative frame, but collectors are welcome to add to or dismount painting onto another presentation surface at your discretion. This piece can be hung directly on the wall as is with a few wall mounts, but be careful if using nails that they don't touch the back of the painting. Any watermarks seen online will not be on the actual painting.

Cindy Thornton (b. 1975) is a contemporary illustrative painter currently residing in Orlando, Florida. Her whimsical and vibrant style often incorporates bold colors, clean lines, and touches of surrealism. Many of Cindy’s paintings have unique and hidden meanings that challenge the imagination, but a common theme found throughout her work is love. That central theme is expressed, sometimes subtly, in thought-provoking dreamscapes that are frequently embellished with touches of quirkiness and humor.
Much of Cindy’s work also conveys a sense of simplicity and childlike innocence. In fact, her three young children offer a tremendous source of inspiration. Cindy’s love of nostalgic music, interest in science, and appreciation of nature also influence her artistic choices.
Cindy studied art in college but didn’t begin actively selling her paintings online until 2005. Since then, she’s been able to sell hundreds of original works to collectors around the world, collaborate with local and international art galleries, and has had the opportunity to illustrate Beatrix Potter's 'Peter Rabbit' as well as Felix Salten's "Bambi" (Coming soon in early 2021). She also occasionally participates in art events and festivals in the southeastern United States. When she’s not painting, Cindy enjoys family life with her husband and imaginative kids.
