Eco Printed Silk Habotai.
About the Process:
Eco printing or eco dyeing is a contemporary application of the traditions of natural dyeing. Plants are enclosed in textiles or paper, bundled by winding over rods or stacked in layers and then steamed or immersed in hot water to extract the pigments and produce a print made with plant dyes. Direct and close contact between the plant and the substrate is essential. Leaves, stems, bark, flowers, buds, seeds and roots may be used.
JROSE is the work of textile artist and designer Jessica Hagar. Every piece is handmade and one of a kind with an emphasis on fine American craftsmanship. JROSE strives for excellence in craft and quality in materials and finished products. She is always looking for ways to make her pieces using locally found or American sourced materials. During the making process there is very little waste and every process is done by hand. She seeks to create designs that are simple, durable, and enjoyable to wear. Each design is created to stand the test of time and to fit in with your personal creative style.
Her hope is to see her products being used in creative ways with elegance and pride.
"I hope that everyone will use my work to express themselves as a person and just enjoy the texture and movement that comes with getting to wear quality handmade fabric." -JROSE
