This plate is food-safe. Use it to serve crackers and cheese or even fruit. It is made of sheet glass and strips of sheet glass. It’s very colorful. It has been handmade by me. The piece is fired in my kiln to a smooth finish. To finish the process in the kiln, the glass is cooled very slowly—annealing phase. This process makes the glass stronger. The plate is 7mm thick and comes with a metal stand to display it. This plate is 6mm thick. NOTE: We do not recommend washing this piece in the dishwasher—due to cold/heat variations of the dishwasher. Please hand wash.
My sister, Sue Froebel, and I have been fusing for about 10 years. However, we don't fuse full time. We usually do about 4 Art Shows a year. We are learning new fusing techniques all of the time. We are both a BOI's--born on the island-Galveston.
