I’m really enjoying how these forms and poems are evolving! These are LARGE ceramics- this one is 14” tall by 12” wide and 7” deep- and they have a lovely sense of gravitas (without being self-important).
The face is expressive and (I hope) whimsical and the poem is poignant so you have a statement piece that you can grow old with.
The Poem on the back of this one says:
“There was no Winter in his heart
His ears filled only with the summer of her Laugh
And the springtime newness of each touch.”
That’s who I want to be... that’s where I want to live.
This series is individually sculpted from stoneware clay and glazed... suitable for Display either indoors or outdoors...

Greetings! I’m Michael Terra and I’ve been making & selling art since about 1975, in one form or another. My partner, Victoria, and I operate Terra Cottage Ceramics in the Arts District of a riverside town in western Kentucky under the strict supervision of 5 cats. I am a sculptor primarily working in language (but I hang the words on clay so that it is easy for you to take home). Virtually everything I make hides multiple layers and the slower that you look, the more you’ll discover- (kind of like the rest of your life)! Everything from this studio is emotionally engaging and includes free shipping- blessings abound!
