Photography of Crystals

My crystal photography combines my background as a research scientist with a degree in photography to explore the hidden microscopic world of crystals. I first grow the crystals, then search the unique arrays for patterns, colors and compositions that become my fine art photographs. Magnified thousands of times, the colors are the result of refraction of light through the crystal facets. Recently voted “Best Artist” in Phoenix Magazine’s Best of The Valley 2020 reader’s poll, my artwork is displayed in corporate, public and private collections worldwide. I also enjoy lecturing to arts groups, sharing my perspective on an innovative and beautiful combination of art and science.
