To create this small shrine I've used a vintage metal tart/muffin tin, a crystal bead drop, brass filigree and in the center a vintage religious Medal of Our Lady of LOURDES (Mary appeared to Bernadette in a grotto near the French town of Lourdes) This medal has a lovely patina from being worn and rubbed. There is a wire to hang it with on the back.
“May this piece of art be a subtle invitation to reflect on Love, Gratitude and your place in the Universe.”
Artist JoAnne Hunot has been doing assemblage artwork for over 20 years. The last photos shows her studio which is full of "stuff" just waiting to be made into art. This is “upcycling” at it's best! Since most parts are re-purposed from thrift stores, there might be small blemishes.
I also have an etsy store.
I have been collecting interesting artifacts since childhood. I LOVE old stuff! I visit flea markets and thrift stores looking for vintage items for my up-cycled art work. All of the frames, boxes, and drawers I use are re-purposed. I have been selling my work at California art shows for over 20 years.
