Sedona Snow

I was lucky to get some snow during my Arizona road trip in February/March 2018. It is always tough to photograph something that has been photographed many times before (Cathedral Rock apparently is one of the most photographed sites in Arizona), but hey, at least I captured it with snow. Also, by hand coloring I can give it my own twist. It was fun to color the red rocks in the background and the greenery in the front, while avoiding the areas with snow. Cathedral Rock is on the right. This is a limited edition piece, as I'm only doing 18 pieces at this size. This is number 1. The technique is from the early days of b&w photography also known as hand tinting. The photo was printed using black and gray inks only on canvas, which I hand colored with translucent acrylic paint. The canvas is stretched on bars and framed in rustic reclaimed wood floater frame. A textured gel coating is applied to the front. Wire on the back for easy hanging. A certificate of authenticity is attached to the back.
