BAKING QUEEN. The perfect gift for that BAKER you know! This is the larger-sized wood plaque I make, 5" x 7" which hangs on wall. Miniature cookies, cupcake, mixing bowl with spoon, and an authentic US postage stamp. This broken doll is an antique and was manufactured in Germany between 1850-1920. During production, BROKEN DOLLS were discarded in the woods behind the factories. Now, these old and broken dolls are being dug up after being in the ground all these years. The treasure hunters have to dig through a large amount of rubble and dirt to find these mostly intact dolls. These dolls are over 100 years old! When I traveled in Germany, I met the man who dug this doll up. I purchased 200 dolls and doll parts from his personal collection and brought them back home to create my new art work! Turning broken and discarded dolls into ART is re-purposing at its best!
I also have an etsy store.
I have been collecting interesting artifacts since childhood. I LOVE old stuff! I visit flea markets and thrift stores looking for vintage items for my up-cycled art work. All of the frames, boxes, and drawers I use are re-purposed. I have been selling my work at California art shows for over 20 years.
