FAMILY...Crazy, Loud, and full of LOVE.

"Family, CRAZY, LOUD, and full of LOVE." A fun frame with houses and landscape I found at a thrift store. Hangs on wall, or sits on a shelf. A whole family group is posing for a picture! Everyone has come including a tiny china DOG and small teddy bear. These broken dolls are antiques and were manufactured in Germany between 1850-1920. This type of doll was instantly popular because they were very affordable, some costing only one penny. During production, BROKEN DOLLS were discarded in the woods behind the factories. Now, these old and broken dolls are being dug up after being in the ground all these years. The treasure hunters have to dig through a large amount of rubble and dirt to find these mostly intact dolls. These dolls are over 100 years old! When I traveled in Germany, I met the man who dug these dolls up. I purchased 200 dolls and doll parts from his personal collection and brought them back home to create my new art work! Turning broken and discarded dolls into ART is re-purposing at its best! I also have an etsy store.
