Caminante (Wanderer): Inspired by Antonio Machado’s poem Proverbs and Song-Verses (Proverbios y cantares XXIX) and an Autumn sunset at Bristol Beach, Massachusetts.
Wanderer, your footsteps are the road, and nothing more; wanderer, there is no road, the road is made by walking. Walking you make the road, and turning to look behind you see the path you never again will step upon. Wanderer, there is no road— Only wakes on the sea… All passes and all remain, but our task is to pass by, to pass by making roads, roads through the sea.
