Pavo, named for the latin term for the species is a mixed media painting on canvas. Peacocks have always held a special fascination for me – it’s probably related to the vibrant colours. I once fancied the idea of owning an acreage and raising them… until I spent some time at a friends place and listened to how incredible loud they are, not to mention other less than desirable qualities lol! I think I will just stick to painting them! The males of the species are the showy ones while the females are rather plain.

Creating art has always been my passion, and I feel incredibly lucky to be able to pursue it. I am not limited by subject matter and am often drawn to creatures in nature with fins or feathers. I combine my skills to create paintings that are representational, striving for a sense of realism, with backgrounds that are abstract and unconventional. The use of bright colors and multiple layers brings me immense joy and happiness.
I approach my work with a curious and optimistic spirit, embracing the unknown outcome of each piece. My life-long commitment to art is evident in my works, as I strive to reflect the beauty that surrounds me. I am dedicated to the creative process and am constantly inspired by the world around me.
Original mixed media and digital art work and prints.
I am a mixed media artist, web & graphic designer. Originally from Alberta, I felt the call of Vancouver Island more than 10 years ago and made the move to this paradise. I have been transformed and inspired by the easy lifestyle and natural charm of my island home. My art is a reflection of the beauty that surrounds me and the deep sense of gratitude I feel for the experience of creative expression. I have had a life long passion for creating art and feel so truly blessed to be pursuing what I love. I don’t feel compelled to limit my exploration of whatever appeals to me as a subject matter; I’m happiest when I’m using bright colours and lots of layers. As with all things in life – there is no guarantee of the outcome so I try to remain optimistically curious and enjoy the process!
