The sparkly hammered texture is accented by occasional "hashmarks" that represent the engraved demarkations on old-style brass instruments, like the brass calipers used at the jeweler's bench, and antique nautical instruments and scientific devices. Arcana Metalwork creates ancient-inspired, modern design jewelry for strong independent women. Designer/owner Peggy Foy forges handcrafted treasures that show the mark of craftsmanship in every tiny detail, beautifully achieved in precious metals and genuine gems.
About the artist: Seattle jeweler Peggy Foy received a formal training in metalsmithing from the University of Georgia, graduating with a BFA in Jewelry/Metalwork. Drawn by the vibrant arts community (and the natural beauty and ethical sensibilities of the region), Peggy relocated to the Pacific Northwest in 2005, where she quickly became active in the Seattle jewelry community.
