Forged cabinet using only blacksmithing techniques and joinery. No modern welding was used, all the joinery is mortise and tenon or riveted together. The door of the cabinet is forged from small pieces under the power hammer to get width and texture at the same time. The color is Allis Chalmers Orange, it is meant to represent the strong connection between blacksmithing and agriculture. All the pieces are riveted together, the door handle is also riveted to the door. The hinges are hand made as well and become part of the design aesthetic. The inside of the cabinet is veneered birch plywood stained in ebony, it measures 13" wide 9" deep and 14" high. The top is a semi-translucent acrylic and rests on the base. The metal is finished with beeswax and linseed oil, the top can be cleaned with a damp cloth or soap and water. Glass cleaner should not be used.

I use traditional forging techniques and joinery to create contemporary work. I start with raw metal and heat it in the forge. I then use a pneumatic power hammer and hand hammers at the anvil to shape and bend the material. I have made the majority of my tooling, I use different tool steels for hot cutting chisels, slits, drifts, punches and hammers. The style I have developed is in part inspired by the Danish Modern and Shaker styles. I focus on keeping clean simple lines and forging every part of each piece to shape the metal hot. The joinery becomes an aesthetic part of the piece, a focal point, it represents hard honest work that is thought of to be sophisticated in its simplicity
