THE WOOD: Our European Bastard Swords are made from locally sourced solid American Hickory. Through many years of testing, we have found hickory to be the superior American hardwood for sparring weapons. THE SPECS: Overall Length: 48-52 in. Grip: 8-12 in. Quillion: 10 in THE CARE: Each sword is treated with a special all natural, non-toxic, sword salve that is handcrafted in our shop. This protects the sword from weather and prolongs the life of your sword. Upon receiving your sword, it is a good idea to use a soft cloth to buff the wax into the wood.
