"Sun Dance" Necklace in 23-Karat Gold on Black Tektite, Green Turquoise, Azurite/Malachite
My "Sun Dance" necklace holds a spectacular array in greens and aquas, with texture and natural beauty at its best. The turquoise represents wisdom, tranquility, protection, good fortune and hope. The Azurite/malachite stones are an exceptional conductor of energy and healing.
I have hand-gilded tektite stone with 23-Karat gold leaf making the pendant look exquisite and bold. Green turquoise and azurite/malachite add to the dance between greens and aqua hues in the necklace. The finishing touch is a-14 karat gold-filled toggle clasp along with my designer signature tag.
I enjoy working with the rougher texture on the top of the tektite stone for laying the gold. The back is smooth, and feels good against the skin. The combined colors of the stones give this necklace its unique one-of-a-kind look.
The necklace measures 17.5", the pendant length is .75" (under an inch), .50 wide (half inch), and is displayed on my life size model/mannequin.
***The word tektite comes from the Greek word "tektos" which means molten. Whether the meteorite explodes in the air or upon impact, what we call tektite stone is thrown out from the explosive force.
***My wearable art designs are all one-of-a-kind. Each jewelry piece is hand gilded on stone or glass with either 23-Karat gold, white gold or silver leaf. These unique hand gilded stones or glass beads are accompanied by precious gems, semi-precious gems, gold and sterling silver.

About my Technique on Glass and Stone -
As an artist and gilder, I employ Verre Eglomisé technique, which is the art of painting and gilding precious metal leaf on the reverse side of the glass. Designs are engraved into the gold or silver leaf and then combined with glass and enamel paints on the back side of my glass bowls, table tops, and décor pieces. I also am gilding stone with gold leaf for my unique and elegant jewelry designs, and have custom commissions for special occasions such as concerts, weddings, anniversaries, and holiday gifts.
