Organic Matter: Blue Diamond Wave/Curvaceous Rivet Necklace

Stone(s): One, 2.0 mm VS1 white diamond. Three, rose-cut blue diamonds, measuring 3.6 mm (1), 3.25 mm (1), and 2.0 mm (1).  Material(s): Pendant is oxidized sterling silver (.925) with three, 18K yellow gold accent rivets. The bail (hook) is 18K yellow gold. The blue diamonds are set in 18K yellow gold bezels.  Box chain is oxidized sterling silver (.925) with two, 14K rose gold accent loops and one, 18K yellow gold accent loop.  Pendant/Chain Measurement(s): Pendant is 1 1/2" long and 1" wide. Adjustable box chain is included, and may be worn at lengths from 16" - 22." Description/Artist Notes: One of a kind, statement piece.  The oxidized sterling silver is formed using hammers and anvils, creating the rolling waves and curves in the metal. A flower bud is molded and cast in oxidized sterling silver, creating the detail at the top of the pendant.  For the rivets, holes are drilled and 18K yellow gold is inserted and melted on each side. Colored diamonds are colorless when mined from the earth. They then undergo a treatment called irradiation, to permanently create the colored diamond. Irradiated diamonds are not radioactive and will not fade. The enhancement does not affect the price and is an affordable option compared to naturally occurring colored diamonds, which are extremely rare.
