Heirloom Tomatoes Out Of Wood #11

Hi there. What you have here is my hand cut marquetry wood inlay depiction of various heirloom tomatoes. The piece came to fruition, so to speak, when my mom had asked me to paint her some tomatoes, which of course I proudly did for her. Now I have a couple other versions available to you just as nice as what I gave my own mother! Since every tomato is different, I paint them separately with tinted shellac before assembling the inlay. This amplifies the characteristic of the wood grain so that they really catch the light. A photo can never give this 3-D effect justice. The veneer work is laminated to a shellac sealed composite backer board. Both the edges and the top surface of the piece are varnished in crystal clear ultra uv resistant 'art resin' self leveling epoxy specifically designed to ensure the preservation and protection of both the woodwork and the integrity of these vibrant colors! This also makes the piece washable and great for kitchens. Included with the piece is a French Cleat for quick, easy and super secure hanging. Enjoy! Dimensions: (12'H x 14&½"W x ½"D)
