Description
This design took its inspiration from the ceramic base, which includes a delicate flowing pattern of gold flowers. The shade continues the design in gold threads that swirl in and out of the gold, green and blue patterns of the paper collage shade.
All "Empire" lamps include new sockets, plugs and wiring. Every lamp is a unique combination of found objects produced in our Northern CA studios. The shades use heavy acid-free rag papers and are preserved with UV and moisture-lock archival protection.

Imaginary Lamp Empire is a business run by filmmaker and visual artist Mark Taylor, who lives and works in San Francisco and Mokelumne Hill, CA, a gold rush town located in the Sierra Foothills. All lamps are unique originals made by hand. Lamp shades are sewn-paper collages; lamp bodies combine found objects with hand-made ceramics created by artist James Aarons. All shades use heavy acid-free rag papers and are preserved with UV and moisture-lock archival protection. All lamps include new sockets, plugs, switches and wiring.
