B333. Irish Charm Bracelet. I made this bracelet using an Irish Patrick charm, a Cladaugh (symbolizing friendship, love & loyalty, a Celtic cross (a Christian cross that emerged in Ireland & England in the Middle Ages), & green shamrock beads from a broken rosary. The chain is silver-tone cable link; the bracelet measures 8.25“, but can be worn shorter.

My jewelry reflects my passion for antiquing & recycling. I love working with early plastics (e.g., bakelite), found objects (e.g., vintage pinback buttons, lithograph tin, old bottle tops, transit tokens, electrical resisters, etc.), broken vintage jewelry & charms, metal (especially copper), & gemstone beads to create something fun & interesting to wear. I use a variety of techniques in my work, including cold connections, texturing, soldering, riveting, wire-wrapping, enameling, & forming. I take jewelry classes at the Des Moines Art Center, & enjoy learning & experimenting with new techniques. Each piece of jewelry I design is unique, & comes with a story that describes the history of the materials used &/or the message/meaning of the work.
