Description
This picture was part of my private collection until 2020, which is why it is discounted (originally $485).
I create the basket weave appearance by dipping the ends of the pieces of the veneer making up the star in hot sand. This chars the wood just a little creating a shadow. This makes it look like one goes under and the other over, but they are actually all totally flat.
Lacquer finish.

No two pictures are identical as wood grain has infinite variability and no two pieces of wood are the same. The pieces are sealed with either lacquer or a hand rubbed oil and wax finish. Pictures are framed, ready to be hung. Jane also accepts commissions, making pictures to specific sizes and colors according to the customer's preferences.
