Description
The central blooms of this dogwood show lovely 3 dimensional depth which I create by dipping each individual flower in hot sand, which chars the wood, just enough to create the appearance of a shadow. The bracts are a bright white maple veneer with walnut on the tips to create that typical dogwood brown tipped point. The leaves are once again dipped in hot sand to create shadows. The green is natural poplar wood. The dark brown background is Orientalwood and the mat is Sapele. The touch of gold in the frame adds an elegance to the piece.
Lacquer finish.

No two pictures are identical as wood grain has infinite variability and no two pieces of wood are the same. The pieces are sealed with either lacquer or a hand rubbed oil and wax finish. Pictures are framed, ready to be hung. Jane also accepts commissions, making pictures to specific sizes and colors according to the customer's preferences.
