This piece was painted based on an experience I had driving around Detroit in my friend's car. Her Gucci Mane air freshener swung from the rear view mirror as we cruised from neighborhood to neighborhood.
"Detroit State of Mind" was part of my recent solo show, "Finding America". It was held at Headquarters Gallery in Telluride for the month of September, 2020. The work measures 8x10 inches, and was painted using oil on canvas panel. It is a standard size and can easily be framed.
