About the event

Hampton Roads Pride Weekend is a three-day annual celebration hosted across Norfolk and Virginia Beach, Virginia. For over 30 years, this festival has showcased the 757’s unwavering commitment to uplifting the LGBTQIA+ community through music, art, education, and inclusive, family-friendly experiences. The weekend kicks off with the Pride Block Party on Friday night a 18+ dance party in the heart of the region, bringing nightlife, community, and celebration together. On Saturday, the excitement continues with the nations first Pride Boat Parade, sailing proudly along the historic Elizabeth River. Then, join thousands at PrideFest, our signature outdoor festival filled with live entertainment, community resources, history activations, family activities, local food, art, and joy for all ages. Sunday closes the weekend with Pride at the Beach, a high-energy beach party set against the Virginia Beach Oceanfront sunset. Featuring live DJs, branded VIP experiences, and plenty of picture-perfect moments with friends and chosen family. From parades to parties, beaches to boats—Hampton Roads Pride Weekend is where the 757 comes together to celebrate love, unity, and diversity in all its forms.

About the application

Select up to three of our 10 departments to volunteer with! - History Experience: Assist Dr. Charles Ford with his presentation. - Family Pride: Family Pride area operations. - Festival Operations: This department works all across the 757 both Southside and Peninsula! Assist with setup, breakdown and operations. - Entertainment: Assist Director Christina Schmidt with our entertainment operations during Pride Weekend. - Beverages: Setup, stock, sell beverages to attendees. - General Support: Assist any department that is short staffed or needs additional support during Pride Weekend. - VIP Services and Ticketing: Ticket sales, attendee check-in. - Creative & Marketing: Assist Director Hannah Barber with all of our marketing and social media leading up to events, Pride Weekend and throughout the year if you wish! - Guest Services: Ensure guest services and necessary ADA accommodations are met and exceeded. - Parade Operations: Assist Secretary Fawn Faulks with our first ever Pride March to open the celebrations at Pride at the Beach at Virginia Beach Oceanfront!!

Terms & Conditions

16 years of age for all volunteer position with the exception of Beverages which minimum is 21 years of age. While we do not have a limit to the number of shifts that you can select, we do ask that you first remember to take care of yourselves and to not overextend yourself!

Ensure we are respectful of the Juneteenth Celebration that we will be passing along out route to 31st street park. Operate water stations along the route, handing out water to participants.
