Are you passionate about working with children and looking to take on a leadership role? The Shift Lead position for the Children’s Program at the RIS Convention offers a unique opportunity to lead, support, and inspire the next generation in a dynamic, faith-based environment. This role is perfect for volunteers who have a background in childcare or education and are ready to step into a leadership position. As a Shift Lead, you will oversee volunteers, ensure smooth operations, and create a safe and engaging atmosphere for children during the convention. You’ll also play a key role in shaping the experience for both children and parents, all while gaining valuable leadership skills in a faith-centered setting. Requirements: - Experience in childcare or education is preferred - Availability for mandatory training on Nov 23, 2024, and the full three days of the convention (Dec 20-22, 2024) - Strong leadership and communication skills - Passion for making a positive impact on children’s lives Take the next step in your leadership journey and help create a memorable experience for the children at RIS Convention!

Terms & Conditions

Whether you are an experienced volunteer or this is your first time, by applying to volunteer at the Reviving the Islamic Spirit (RIS) Convention, you agree to the following terms and conditions: 1. COMMITMENT TO SERVICE Volunteers are required to commit to volunteering for all three days of the RIS Convention. This ensures a consistent and supportive experience for all attendees and fellow volunteers. 2. MANDATORY ORIENTATION AND TRAINING Volunteers must attend the mandatory in-person orientation training session, as well as the mandatory in-person onsite tour. These sessions are designed to equip you with essential information and skills to effectively perform your duties. 3. ATTENDANCE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Selected Volunteers will be assigned their roles and duties based on the needs of the convention. Volunteers are expected to attend all assigned shifts and fulfill their responsibilities diligently, and it is essential to follow the instructions provided by your Team Leads, who will guide you throughout the event. Failure to comply with these expectations may result in the termination of your volunteer position at RIS. Your cooperation helps maintain the smooth operation of the convention. 4. DEPOSIT REQUIREMENT A $40 cash deposit is required from EACH volunteer at the Orientation Training. This deposit will be refunded upon successful completion of all assigned shifts at the RIS 2024 Convention. Failure to fulfill your duties or attend all your shifts will result in the forfeiture of your deposit. 5. VOLUNTEER STANDARD OF CONDUCT Volunteers are expected to uphold the RIS Volunteer Standards at all times. This includes, but is not limited to: - Etiquette and Respect: Treat all attendees, fellow volunteers, and vendors with courtesy and respect. A positive and welcoming attitude contributes to a memorable experience for everyone involved. - Professionalism: Represent RIS with integrity and professionalism in all interactions. Your behavior reflects not only on yourself but also on the organization and the community we serve. - Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with other volunteers and staff. A cooperative spirit enhances our collective efforts and fosters a supportive environment. By volunteering, you play a vital role in the success of the RIS Convention. Your dedication and commitment to these terms will help create a meaningful, enriching and beneficial experience for all attendees, volunteers, and for you.
