About the event

The PRIDE Job Fair is an inclusive event where out of the box talent and employers connect. Organizations can engage with hundreds of prospective LGBTQ+ candidates and allies to promote their job opportunities at The PRIDE Job Fair. In addition to booth access, exhibitors can reach an audience of tens of thousands more on The Center on Colfax and Denver PRIDE websites.

About the application

Duties and Responsibilities: • 9:30 - Arrive prior to sponsor and exhibitor drop-off o Place sponsor and exhibitor place settings on all of the tables. • 10-10:45 a.m. - Assist sponsors and exhibitors transfer their supplies/materials (as needed) from the first floor (back entrance of McNichols building) upstairs to their designated area for drop-off/set-up. There is a freight elevator for immediate access. • 11-1:30 p.m. - Greet job seekers and hand out printed maps of job fair. o Periodically distribute water and snacks (if available) to sponsors and exhibitors. o Walk around to provide engagement and make everyone feel welcome. o A couple of volunteers will occupy the check-in desk at the entrance to the PRIDE Job Fair, providing general information about the event and sharing rack cards about The Center. • 1:30-2:30 p.m. - Assist sponsors and exhibitors transfer their supplies/materials (as needed) from upstairs down to the back of building on the first floor for pick-up. There is a freight elevator for immediate access. Qualifications: Ideally, these volunteers have a positive and engaging attitude, good customer service skills and are willing to take the initiative to either check-in with sponsors and exhibitors to see if they need anything, assist job seekers that may have questions, and/or occupy the check-in desk to provide general community engagement. Working Conditions: The event will be at the McNichols Building (144 W/ Colfax Ave., Denver 80202). Volunteers will need to park on their own and be ready to check-in at the back area of the venue at 9:30 a.m. to assist with setting sponsor/exhibitor table tents up and ready to assist them with unloading and moving their equipment upstairs, via a freight elevator. The venue is temperature controlled, and the volunteers should dress business casually. Ideally name tags with the volunteer’s name and pronouns will be provided so that everyone can easily be identified. Light moving may be involved, though sponsors and exhibitors will be primarily responsible for getting their booth materials from their car to the back entrance of the McNichols building. At the end of the event, the volunteers may need to help the sponsors/exhibitors move their materials out. Hopefully most things will be completed around 2 p.m., though I have included extra time just in case it takes a bit longer to get everyone out. Breakdown is not required by us.
