About the event

The North Carolina Fossil Festival celebrates the Aurora Fossil Museum and the rich fossil record of North Carolina. Join us for a family-friendly event steeped in tradition and good old-fashioned southern charm. Activities include digging for fossils, fossil displays, silent & live auction, displays by partner nonprofit organizations, movie night, parade, live entertainment, food & craft vendors, Saturday night glow party, Dinosaur show, and much, much more!

About the application

The VIP provides paid patrons with a designated stage-side VIP area. The VIP tent will have a private-access fossil pit, restroom facilities, and light food & drink. Due to your previous volunteering at the Aurora Fossil Museum, we invite you to apply as one of our VIP Tent Crew Volunteers. VIP Tent Crew will help with the following: -- Monitor the VIP Tent area and remedy any issues -- Assist with tasks about the VIP Tent -- Help VIP patrons with fossil identification -- Share information about the Aurora Fossil Museum in a friendly, enthusiastic way. As a volunteer, you will receive an NC Fossil Festival Volunteer t-shirt, a 2022 NC Fossil Festival t-shirt, and a food voucher. Each volunteer slot is on a first-come, first-serve basis so sign up ASAP! To sign-up, please see below.

Please read all the information below before beginning your application. As a volunteer, you are responsible for understanding all Terms and Conditions. You agree to all North Carolina Fossil Festival Terms and Conditions by submitting your application. -- Applying does not guarantee acceptance as an NC Fossil Festival Volunteer. -- Only applications submitted through this webpage will be accepted. -- Applications received by mail or email will automatically be rejected. -- A committee selects applicants by volunteer application only. -- Incomplete applications will not be considered. -- Volunteers will be notified via email of the decision. -- Information on application status will not be supplied between submission and decision. -- Following the approval email, the approved volunteers will receive Information regarding event information and check-in times. By submitting this application, I agree to hold the Aurora Fossil Museum Foundation, Inc., the Town of Aurora, and the North Carolina Fossil Festival harmless for any injury or loss to any person, equipment, property, or goods for any cause whatsoever. I also agree that the stated organizations cannot be held responsible for any claims for damage, injury, or loss arising from or in connection with and during the North Carolina Fossil Festival in Aurora. Volunteers not adhering to the terms and conditions will be asked to leave and will not be allowed to participate in future North Carolina Fossil Festivals.
