Pioneer Elementary Volunteer

message SEG will be providing historically accurate information to the children of this elementary school. Please email if you have a skill or talent you would like to share. Some ideas would be: Spinning (drop spindle or wheel) Weaving (tabletop loom) Tablet/card weaving (makes decorative bands and trim) Knitting or nalbinding (an older precursor to knitting) Candle making (dipped tallow candles) Soap making Bookbinding Chainmaille (armor rings — kids love this one) Pottery / hand-building clay Butter churning (super interactive for kids) Herb bundling / drying Heraldry (designing and painting coats of arms — great for kids) Storytelling or bardic performance Lute, harp, or period instrument playing Juggling or court jester skills Shield making Armor polishing and maintenance demo As long as you have read and agree to the terms and conditions (which includes having read and signed the Code of Conduct) you will be approved to participate. Please be sure to email, text, or call me if you can do a demonstration of some kind and what you will need to do it. Ideally it would be something you could teach the children as you perform it, but it is not required.
