This year, the Downtown Georgetown Association transforms Historic Downtown Georgetown into a Candyland Christmas Stroll – A Sweet Stroll Through Georgetown for a FREE THREE-DAY EVENT of festive fun. Kick off your holiday season with jolly, FREE family-friendly festivities at the 44th Annual Christmas Stroll! Whether you're a candy-loving kiddo or a gumdrop-glowing grown-up, there’s something for everyone to savor. Don’t miss the Candyland Parade on Saturday morning – a highlight of the Stroll! Afterward, make your way to Santa's Candy Throne for a photo op, Whoo Hair, face painting and explore a peppermint path of over 200 artisan, craft, and boutique vendors offering gifts as sweet as the season. Enjoy live music and entertainment, delicious dining options, and sweet treats from local restaurants and food vendors. Be sure to stroll through the Square’s candy-themed storefronts, snap photos with oversized candy props, and savor every magical moment of this Georgetown tradition. Grab your family, your friends, and your sweet tooth – and join us for an unforgettable holiday adventure at the 44th Annual Georgetown Candyland Christmas Stroll! Friday: Sweet Start to the Stroll December 5: 4:00pm - 9:30pm Kickoff Celebration: Join us for a festive evening with live entertainment and the grand illumination of Downtown’s Georgetown dazzling holiday lights, transforming the Square into a twinkling Candyland wonderland. This is the perfect way to welcome the holiday season, sip on hot cocoa, and share in the joy and excitement of the Christmas Stroll! Candyland Preview: Get first look for gifts for everyone on your list. Stroll through a dazzling array of over 200 vendor booths, each transformed into a festive Candyland wonderland. From handcrafted holiday decor and artisan jewelry to sweet treats and boutique treasures, Friday evening is the perfect time to shop for unique gifts! Stroll the Square: Explore beautifully decorated storefronts of Historic Downtown Georgetown, where each shop window is a feast for the eyes with Candyland-themed displays. Browse local boutiques and specialty shops offering exclusive promotions and early holiday deals. Saturday: Stroll, Sweets & Parade Fun December 6: 10:00am - 9:30pm Candyland Parade: Everyone’s favorite! Watch colorful floats, festive performers, and local groups march through the streets in a swirl of holiday spirit. Parade starts at 10am. Santa, Whoo Hair & Face Painting: Stop by Santa’s Candy Throne on the courthouse lawn for festive photo ops, show off your Candyland style with Whoo Hair makeovers, and let the face painters add a touch of candy-inspired magic to your holiday look! Vendor Booth Bonanza & Food Truck Delights: Wander through rows of artisan vendor booths offering unique gifts, and savor candy-themed eats and festive bites from a variety of food trucks and vendors. We’re gearing up for another Downtown Georgetown Association in Downtown Georgetown — and we’d love for you to join us again! Your time and heart helped make last year’s Stroll a wonderful success, filling the Square with joy and community spirit. Because of dedicated volunteers like you, families from near and far continue to make this cherished Georgetown tradition part of their holiday season. This year’s theme is Candyland: “A Sweet Stroll Through Georgetown”, and the event will be held Friday–Sunday, December 5–7, 2025, during the following hours: · Friday, December 5: 4:00 PM – 9:30 PM · Saturday, December 6: 10:00 AM – 9:30 PM o Parade 10:00 AM · Sunday, December 7: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM We’re looking for cheerful, dependable volunteers to help in these key areas: Volunteer photographers will help capture the joy and energy of the Christmas Stroll weekend, showcasing the Candyland theme, community spirit, and festive atmosphere. A professional photographer will serve as team lead, providing guidance and coordinating coverage. Roles & Responsibilities: Capture candid and posed photos of families, vendors, parade participants, volunteers, and event zones. Cover key areas such as Founders Park, Parade Route, Kids Zones, and activity areas throughout the event. Follow the lead photographer’s schedule, direction, and designated shot list. Upload or share photos daily with the lead photographer (instructions provided at check-in). Represent the event positively—smiling, courteous, and mindful of guests and vendors. Use any digital camera or smartphone (no professional equipment required). Whether you can volunteer for a few hours or the full weekend, your time helps create a warm, welcoming experience for everyone who visits the Stroll. Georgetown Christmas Stroll Volunteer Terms and Conditions Volunteer Acknowledgment By signing the question below, I acknowledge that I am participating as a volunteer for the Georgetown Christmas Stroll, organized by the Downtown Georgetown Association. I understand that I am not an employee, agent, or contractor of the Association and that I will not receive wages, compensation, or benefits for my participation. My involvement is voluntary and done for community benefit. ________________________________________ Commitment & Attendance Volunteers are expected to honor their scheduled shifts and arrive on time. If a volunteer is unable to attend, they must provide a minimum of 48 hours’ notice to the volunteer coordinator so adjustments can be made. ________________________________________ Conduct & Behavior Volunteers are representatives of the Downtown Georgetown Association and are expected to act respectfully, courteously, and professionally at all times. Harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behavior toward staff, vendors, participants, or fellow volunteers will not be tolerated. Volunteers are expected to follow all instructions given by event staff and coordinators. ________________________________________ Alcohol, Drugs, and Smoking Policy Consumption or possession of alcohol or illegal drugs while volunteering or while wearing volunteer identification is strictly prohibited. Volunteers may not report to their shifts under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Smoking and vaping are only allowed in designated areas. ________________________________________ Liability Waiver I understand that participating as a volunteer may involve risks, including but not limited to physical activity, exposure to weather, and interaction with the public. By signing below, I release and hold harmless the Downtown Georgetown Association, the City of Georgetown, event sponsors, and their representatives from all claims, liabilities, or damages arising out of my participation as a volunteer. ________________________________________ Medical Treatment Authorization In the event of an injury or medical emergency, I authorize event staff or emergency medical personnel to administer necessary care or arrange transportation for further medical attention. I understand that I am responsible for any medical costs incurred because of such treatment. ________________________________________ Safety & Compliance Volunteers agree to follow all event safety procedures, emergency protocols, and staff directions. Closed-toe shoes and appropriate attire are required. Volunteers must immediately report any unsafe conditions or incidents to the volunteer coordinator. ________________________________________ Dismissal Policy The Downtown Georgetown Association reserves the right to dismiss any volunteer at any time for failure to follow instructions, misconduct, or behavior that negatively reflects on the event or organization. ________________________________________ Volunteer Meeting Requirement All volunteers are required to attend a volunteer orientation meeting, either in person or online, prior to the event.
