About the event

For 42 years, the Troy Victorian Stroll has been a community holiday tradition that transforms the streets of historic downtown Troy into a bygone Victorian era, complete with visitors in Victorian dress strolling the City. The Victorian Stroll has brought residents and tourists alike together to enjoy our beautiful City of Troy - its past, present and future. The Stroll’s activities and entertainment are strategically spread throughout the streets, amidst unique shops, storefronts, restaurants, bars and parks. The events’ footprint is South to Congress Street, East to 6th Ave, West to River Street, and North to Hutton Street. There is something of interest for people of all ages at this one-day. Held each year 10 days after Thanksgiving, we hope you will join us to shop, dine and Stroll Troy!

The Troy Victorian Stroll brings thousands of visitors to downtown Troy each year to celebrate the season with music, entertainment, shopping, food, and community spirit. None of this would be possible without the dedication and energy of our volunteers. We are seeking enthusiastic, reliable, and friendly volunteers to help make this year’s Stroll a success. Volunteer Roles May Include: Event Setup & Breakdown – assisting with decorations, signage, tables, and event materials. Hospitality & Information – greeting guests, handing out maps/programs, answering questions, and assisting with directions. Vendor & Performer Support – providing assistance to food, product, and entertainment participants. Volunteer Check In – helping with checking in each shift of volunteers, getting them their supplies, and ensuring they return their supplies after their shift. General Event Support – ensuring public areas remain clean, accessible, and welcoming. Volunteer Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (certain roles). Positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to work as part of a team. Reliability—volunteers are expected to arrive on time for their scheduled shift. Volunteer Benefits: Be part of a cherished community tradition. Gain hands-on event experience and community service hours (if applicable). Meet new people, support local businesses, and enjoy the holiday spirit. Receive free food and beverages provided by the Rensselaer County Regional Chamber of Commerce. How to Apply: Interested volunteers can complete the Volunteer Application Form by Sunday November 30th 2025. Once submitted, our team will review your application and contact you with assignment details, schedules, and orientation information.
