The Kimmswick Strawberry Festival is a major annual event that draws thousands of visitors to the historic City of Kimmswick annually, rain or shine! Hundreds of vendors including artisan crafters, merchants, artists, collectors, live musicians, specialty food trucks and booths, and select corporate sponsors bring their very best offerings for this festival during the first weekend of June. About the application

Come be a part of an exciting 2 days volunteering as event staff for the City of Kimmswick's Annual Strawberry Festival! We have positions available for parking staff, maintenance crew, security, and administrative assistants. Every year thousands of people attend our Annual Strawberry Festival. Our festivals are what keep our small historic town going and are crucial for the City of Kimmswick. These festivals would not be possible without our volunteers. Whether it is helping direct traffic, or helping tidy up the festival grounds, our volunteer event staff play a vital role in making our festivals a success! Skills Required: Along with great communication and interpersonal skills, we ask that you are flexible and willing to work outdoors. We ask that you are enthusiastic about volunteering for the festival and willing to work as part of a team. If you have specific skills and experience that you think might be useful, such as event management, or leading teams, please let us know when you apply! When & Where: The amount of time you will need to give will depend on your role at the festival. There may be early mornings or late nights but we will never ask you to volunteer more than 8 hours in a day. For admin positions, we may only need you for a few hours in a day, usually the mornings. Support Offered: We will provide kit such as t-shirt, hat, and poncho (if needed). You will need to dress appropriately for the conditions and the task. In return for your valuable help, we aim to ensure that volunteering for our festival staff is a fulfilling and worthwhile experience. You'll have support from staff, with the opportunity to gain and develop skills, and meet other volunteers! Meals and snacks are provided to you throughout the day. What you could get out of it: -Development of your knowledge and skills in supporting a festival events team -Development of your communication, customer service, and organizational skills -Volunteering is a great addition to your resumes. Terms & Conditions

As a volunteer, you are expected to be reliable, punctual, and respectful, following the festival rules and directions, and not engaging in any conduct that could harm the festival’s reputation. You are not an employee of the City of Kimmswick. You will not receive compensation or benefits. You are asked to maintain confidentiality of any information you gain as a volunteer. As a volunteer, you are expected to act honestly and ethically in all volunteer activities. Responsibilities & Duties: -Familiarize yourself with your assigned duties and responsibilities -Perform your duties in a professional manner -Understand the specific tasks and projects you will be involved in - Participate in any necessary training or orientation - Communicate any issues or concerns to the appropriate personnel Legal & Liability: You will be required to sign a waiver releasing the festival organizers, the City of Kimmswick from liability for any injuries or damages incurred during your volunteer service subject to applicable laws and regulations. You understand that you must undergo a background check if you are 18 or older before beginning a volunteer role. You consent to this process and will provide the necessary information. Indemnity: You will be required to indemnify and hold the City of Kimmswick harmless against any damages related to your volunteer activities. Non-Employment Status: You acknowledge you are not an employee, agent, or contractor of the festival. No Employment Benefits: You understand that you will not become eligible for any employment benefits as a result of your volunteer activities Voluntary Agreement: You are agreeing to participate as a volunteer solely for your personal purposes, pleasure or education.
