About the application

Suwanee Fine Arts Festival will accept applications from artists working in diverse media. Each application must specify one of the media categories defined below. These categories organize artists' work into logical groups for a jury's review. While a balanced show is a principle objective, the festival establishes no quota by category. Ceramics: Original shaped and fired clay and porcelain work other than jewelry, including earthenware, porcelain, and raku. Factory-produced work is not permitted. Original functional and non-functional work will be accepted, however Ii multiple pieces of the same design are displayed, each piece must be signed. No machine-made or mass-produced work is permitted. Digital Art: Any original two-dimensional work for which the original image, or the manipulation of other source material, by the artist using programs such as Drawing, Illustrator, Paint or other software applications. Work in this category must be in limited editions, signed and numbered on archival quality materials. Note: Traditional photographs taken through digital media should apply in the photography category. Drawing: Works created using dry media including chalk, charcoal, pastels, pencil, wax crayon, etc. or from the fluid medium of inks and washes applied by pen or brush. Graphics and Printmaking: Printed works for which the artist's hand manipulated the plates, stones or screens and which have been properly signed and numbered as a limited edition. Printmaking process may include pulled plates, linoleum prints, etching, engraving, silkscreen or lithography. All photogravure, photocopy, and/or offset reproductions will be rejected. Printmakers are required to disclose both their creative and printmaking processes. Fiber: All Decorative or fine wearables** crafted from fibers including basketry, embroidery, weaving, leatherwork, tapestry and papermaking. No machine tooling, machine-screened patterns or other forms of mass production are permitted. No factory produced wearable items, regardless of additional modification or enhancement by the artist. **Fine wearables must meet high level of skill and quality requirements. The jury will decide if these standards have been met. No factory produced wearable items, regardless of additional modification or enhancement by the artist will be accepted. Glass: An object made of glass including blown, fused, stained, cast and molded, except jewelry or garden art. Mass- or factory-produced work is not permitted. Embellishment of manufactured materials is not permitted. Jewelry: All Jewelry crafted from metal, glass, stone, clay, or other materials. Commercial molds or casts are not permitted. At least 50% of the organic materials in the finished product used must be produced by the artist. All work that is jewelry must be entered in this category regardless of the materials used. All work must be handcrafted by the artist; no factory production is permitted. Metal: All metal non-sculptural works hand made by the artist. No production studio work Jewelry incorporating metal must apply in the jewelry category. Mass- or factory-produced work is not permitted. Painting: The use of oils, acrylics, watercolors, casein, tempera, etc. suitable for hanging. 2-D Mixed Media: Includes more than one type of physical material such as collage, papermaking, encaustic, pen and ink, paint, pencil, watercolor, or photography. Finished art suitable for wall mounting. Photography: Prints, transparencies or digital images made from the artist’s original negative or taken with a digital camera that has been processed by the artist., are included in this category. Photographers are required to disclose both their creative and printing processes on any prints Photographers must produce archival quality images with archival ink and archival paper and most of the work must be signed and numbered as a limited edition. Sculpture: Three-dimensional work is done in any 1 medium Three-dimensional works incorporating any material that is carved, modeled, constructed or cast. Must be hand sculpted/cast by the artist. 3-D Mixed Media: Includes more than one type of physical material such as mosaic, paper mache, clay, fiber, glass, metal, wood or any other 3-dimensional objects. Wood: Original works in wood that are built, turned, carved or tooled. Embellished manufactured wood items are not permitted.

Applications: • All work must be original, handcrafted, created and exhibited by the approved artist themselves • All entries will be reviewed, juried and screened prior to your acceptance • All applications require 5 photos (3 of your work, 1 of you in your studio or creating your work, 1 booth photo) • Artist Statement/ Biography is required with artist applications • Only one artist per space • Ceramics made from commercial molds, commercially fabricated jewelry forms and settings, and items made from hobby store kits are not acceptable. Exhibitors must provide their own tents, displays, chairs, tables, set-up equipment, change, etc. Tents may NOT be staked into the ground. Tent weights of no less than 40 lbs per corner are required for each booth setup in case of inclement weather. NO special sale(s) signage of any kind will be accepted by Exhibitors (i.e. Buy One Get One Free, 50% off). Artist will not be allowed to drive into the park for set-up. Please bring a dolly or hand truck to load your items. Exhibitor Rules: 1. All works must be original art created by the exhibiting artist 2. All entries must be available for sale 3. One artist per space 4. Hung work must be framed appropriately, or if Gallery wrapped canvas must be over 1” deep 5. Exhibitors must provide their own means of display within a 10 x 10 space 6. Each artist will be responsible for collecting Georgia sales tax on sales made during the festival, which must be submitted to the Georgia Department of Revenue 7. The festival reserves the right to remove works or displays considered objectionable and will do so without refund to the exhibitor 8. Your application is considered a commitment to show your work if you are accepted. NO REFUNDS WILL BE MADE FOR CANCELLATION BY THE ARTIST AFTER THE APPLICATIONS ARE JURIED 9. Refunds will not be made for inclement weather or other acts of God over which the sponsors have no control, and the risk of loss from such an event shall be borne by the exhibitor. This is an outdoor show with no rain date 10. No agents allowed - artist must be in booth. No buy/sell

Prices

Application fees $35 Non-refundable Each artist is required to pay the $35 application fee to be considered for the show. This fee is non-refundable for any reason. Accepted artists will be charged an additional booth fee upon acceptance. NGAA members will receive a discount on booth fee ONLY.
Single booth (10 by 10) $200 Non-refundable Single booth space is for a 10 by 10 tent space. If more space is needed, then multiple booths will need to be purchased. NGAA members will receive a $35 discount on this booth fee. No booth sharing is allowed. One artist per space. Tents must be provided by artist and weighted. NO STAKING OF TENTS.
Double booth (10 by 20) $300 Non-refundable Double booth space is for a 10 by 20 tent space. If more space is needed, then multiple booths will need to be purchased. NGAA members will receive a $35 discount on this booth fee. No booth sharing is allowed. One artist per space. Tents must be provided by artist and weighted. NO STAKING OF TENTS.
Electrical Outlet Rental $50 Non-refundable Electricity is available in a limited capacity. Artist who require electricity will need to bring a 100 foot extension cord. This is for one regular 110 outlet.
