About the application

Greetings Artists! 
We are happy you have opened our application for the Bernalillo Indian Arts Festival on May 6 & May 7, 2023 from 9am-5pm at Loretto Park: 237 S Camino Del Pueblo, Bernalillo, NM 87004.
 
APPLICATION FEE: $35 due with submitted application (non-refundable)
  • EACH ARTIST must fill out an application SEPARATELY and MUST pay the $35 application fee.
  • Full-Time Collaborating Artists fill out a single application and MUST pay one $35 application fee.
TRIBAL DOCUMENT: Please upload your CIB or Letter of Tribal Enrollment with this application.
 
JURIED CLASSIFICATIONS: Classifications are listed as Categories in this online application. Artists may apply into two classifications only. Please include three (3) photos of current artwork for each applied classification with plain white backgrounds.

YOUTH ARTISTS: Artists 17 years old and under may sell with a Juried Booth Space Holder. Youth Artists do not pay an application fee or booth fee. Before Festival day, please email proof of Youth Artist tribal enrollment and three artwork images with descriptions to bernalilloindianfestival@gmail.com.
 
BOOTH SPACE PRICES: Each Artist in a booth space must be juried in.
  • 10'x10': $350 Single Artist and Full-Time Collaborators in one booth space thru April 1. ($375 thereafter)
  • 10'x20': $600 Single Artist in two booths spaces thru April 1. ($625 thereafter)
  • 10'x10': $600 (Full Payment) TWO Artists in one booth space thru April 1. ($625 thereafter)
  • 10'x10': $300 (Split Payment) TWO Artists in one booth space paying individually thru April 1. ($325 thereafter) 
  • 10'x20': $850 Direct Family Members, up to FOUR Adult Artists, in two booths.
NEW OPPORTUNITY for this year: Alternative/Non-Traditional Arts Merchandise. Upon approval by ANAA committee, 20% of your market booth space can be for Non-Traditional Merchandise that complements the Artists brand. Similar to quality commercial gift shop items at a museum (Example: coffee mug with Artist's work as the major design element). You must also disclose to the public the origin of this art. This is an opportunity to evaluate how Non-Traditional Merchandise fits into the Festival.

Terms & Conditions

ELIGIBILITY: The jury process is ongoing, and Artists will be notified of acceptance or not. Authentic Native Arts Association, Inc. and the Bernalillo Indian Arts Festival comply with the Native American eligibility requirements of the Indian Arts & Crafts Act of 1990. This application must include a copy of a tribal enrollment form or Artisan Letter from a Federally recognized tribe.
 
LIABILITY: Neither Authentic Native Arts Association, Inc. nor the City of Bernalillo is liable for any theft or damage to an Artist's merchandise or personal property. ANNA, the City of Bernalillo, Festival event's staff, agents, representatives, and volunteers are not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged property of exhibitors, their representatives, customers, or any other person and/or injury to any person participating in this event for any reason.
 
NEW MEXICO SALES TAX: Authentic Native Arts Association, Inc. is not responsible for collecting the sales tax on items sold by Artists. Collection of sales tax is the responsibility of each Artist. A list of participants is available to the Town of Bernalillo. Since they are gracious enough to support our market, we ask that you report Gross Receipts tax to SANDOVAL COUNTY, CITY OF BERNALILLO (not the county), Location Code 29-120 on your New Mexico Sales tax return.

BOOTH SHARING: All booth-sharing Artists must apply individually and be accepted into the Festival. It is your responsibility to identify and confirm a sharing Artist.
 
BOOTH SPACE: We only provide the space. You are responsible for your set-up, tents, chairs, tables, displays, etc. We will do our best to accommodate your preference but reserve the right to make the final assignment on booth space location.
 
BOOTH SPACE REFUND: Please send an email as soon as possible to ANAA so we may give more time to helping the next Artist.
  • By April 5, 2023: 100% refund minus $35 cancelation fee.
  • April 6, 2023 to April 26, 2023: 70% refund minus $35 cancelation fee.
  • April 27, 2023 to May 5, 2023: 30% refund minus $35 cancelation fee.
  • May 6, 2023: No Refunds on or after Festival day.
