About the event

Join us at Fox Pointe for a FREE powerful and joyful event that honors freedom, history, and community. This family-friendly evening, sponsored by the Lansing Human Relations Commission, will feature an exciting lineup of music, spoken word, and performances that celebrate African American heritage and resilience. Enjoy engaging activities for children and families, interactive demonstrations, inspiring guest speakers, and dancing; plus, savor delicious free food and explore community resource booths and local vendors. Come together with neighbors, friends, and community leaders as we commemorate the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and reflect on the ongoing journey toward equity and justice.

Terms & Conditions

Vendor Selection 

Due to limited space and the goal of maintaining a balanced vendor lineup, applications will be reviewed and vendors will be notified of acceptance. Your card on file will not be charge unless you are approved. 

 

Set-Up Times

-Gates open at 6:00 p.m.

-Event ends at 9:00 p.m.

-Vendors may begin arriving for set-up at 4:00 p.m.

-All vehicles must be removed from grounds by 5:30 p.m.

-Vendors must be fully set up and ready for business by 5:45 p.m.

 

Booth Spaces & Setup

-Vendors must provide all setup materials, including tents, tables, chairs, tent weights, extension cords, signage, and any equipment needed for operation.

-Staking into the ground is not permitted. All tents must be properly weighted.

-Booth placement is determined by the Events Planner and may vary by date.

 

Electricity 

-All electrical needs must be disclosed during the application process.

 

Food Vendors & Food Trucks

-Food vendors are required to hold licensed certification as a Food Vendor from a recognized and approved agency. For convenience, examples of commonly accepted certifications include (but are not limited to):

-Vendors must list their full menu or product offerings in the application.

-Vendors must indicate whether they are operating from a tent, food truck, or food trailer, including total dimensions.

-If operating from a tent, vendor must place a tarp underneath the cooking area. 

-Food vendors must comply with all applicable Village of Lansing requirements.

-Food vendors will be placed along Randolph Street within Fox Pointe.

 

Load-In, Vehicles & Parking

-Vehicles are not permitted to remain behind booth spaces.

-Vendors located within the venue or street areas must be prepared to use carts or dollies to transport items.

-Vendor parking locations and site maps will be communicated in advance of each date.

 

Attendance & Breakdown

-Vendors are expected to remain open for the duration of the event.

-Early breakdown is discouraged and permitted only at the discretion of the Events Planner. 

-Vendors who sell out early must keep their booth intact and may post a “sold out” sign.

 

Weather Policy

-In the event of severe or unsafe weather conditions, the event may be canceled for the safety of vendors and guests. When possible, vendors will receive advance notice of cancellations.

 

Permits, Licenses & Insurance

 -Vendors must submit all applicable licenses, permits, and certifications required for their business.

-Vendors must provide a Certificate of Insurance naming the Village of Lansing as additional insured:

Juneteenth event staff reserves the right to

-Refuse or revoke vendor participation for rule violations or disruptive behavior

-Adjust booth placement, layout, or operations as needed

-Remove products deemed unsafe, illegal, or inappropriate for the market environment

 

Indemnification & Agreement

By submitting an application, vendors agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless the Village of Lansing, Fox Pointe, and all Juneteenth staff from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from participation in the market. Vendors certify that they have read, understand, and agree to all market rules and guidelines.
