San Japan 2026 Indie Artist Booth Application - Jury Selection
About the registration
The cost of an Indie Artist Alley booth is $485 + 3% platform fee. This application is for people to launch/promote a new brand, a manga, their own line of merch, etc., in which they created their own ORIGINAL artwork and creations.
This form opens at 11:00 PM Central on March 16th, 2026.
****NOTE****
Do NOT apply for this application if you do not own the IP of every single piece that you will be selling at your booth. We will DISQUALIFY the application if we spot ***ONE*** copyright or trademark item on the application or when reviewing your portfolio, along with a review of past artwork, even if you have no intent to sell the trademark item at San Japan.
This application is intended for artists and creators who create and sell only their own IP—original designs, artwork, and published items—and own all IP sold at their table.
Advise:
--Add a section on your portfolio website (Wix, Carrd, Square, etc) that's just for original art/merch
--Compile pictures of your original art/merch in a gallery separate from your normal portfolio (Google Drive, imgur, etc)
--Build up a mock table display using just original art/merch at home so we can have a better visual of you being able to fill a 10x10 booth
PLEASE, We Remind Everyone: FAN ARTIST IS NOT AN INDIE ARTIST. If you are unsure whether your portfolio would qualify, we do not advise applying. Nearly 50% of all applications received for the INDIE ARTIST BOOTH are rejected due to people thinking FAN ARTIST = INDIE ARTIST. Please, we implore, know the difference.
Other reasons not to make it in:
--On Texas Sales Tax ID Number pulls up as Invalid OR Inactive. You must have an ACTIVE Texas Sales Tax ID Number.
--Do not submit your federal EIN. If you enter your federal EIN in the sales tax ID field, your application will be immediately rejected.
If you do not have a Texas Sales Tax ID Number, you should not apply.
DO NOT RUSH. This is what causes mistakes, primarily if you use autofill. Applying does not give you an advantage at all. This application will close on March 22nd or when we reach 100 applications.
About the event
Terms & Conditions
This is a jury application. After general screening to ensure all applicants have submitted the correct Texas sales tax information, we will select 12 applications from jury selection. All applicants will be notified by April 4th. All applicants will be billed to the credit, debit, or ACH payment on file upon approval. We will pick a different applicant if the payment is not approved. We will not contact the artist if the payment does not go through. We recommend ensuring that the payment on file can handle a charge of up to $550.
