GENERAL RULES and REGULATIONS:

The Cornell Art Museum is calling artists for Persistence of Matter  Exhibition, its newest upcycle, reinvented exhibition.

 

Here are the details:

  • Curated by Pam Lambie and Mavis Benson of the Cornell Art Museum
  • Exhibition opens June 5, 2026 (6pm to 9pm) - Live music and refreshments, meet and greet artists * Exhibition will be installed in the Upper Level of the Cornell and on view through end of September, 2026.
  • Special events, art talks and art demonstrations are planned at Cornell Art Museum
  • Applications must be submitted by  DEADLINE May 1, 2026
  • Artists may submit three (3) works of art for consideration
  • Application must include high-resolution images
  • Must include sizes of artwork
  • Must include a brief artist statement 
  • Submissions of artworks in various mediums are encouraged.
  • Fee of $25 per artist is due at the time of application submittal to help defray costs

The Cornell Art Museum is calling artists for “Persistence of Matter", inviting artists to transform the forgotten into the unforgettable! The museum is seeking works made from reclaimed, repurposed, and upcycled materials for the upcoming exhibition, "Persistence of Matter". This exhibition will celebrate innovation, sustainability, and imagination. Giving discarded objects a second life through art. Whether the artwork is sculpture, mixed media, assemblage, functional art, or two-dimensional pieces incorporating reused materials, we want to see how you turn old into treasure. Here are the details: * Exhibition Dates: June 5th, 2026 through September 30th, 2026 * Curated by Mavis Benson and Pam Lambie * Art Intake is Friday, May 29, 2026 - Between 10am and 4pm * Art Pick Up is Monday, Sept 28, 2026 - Between 10am and 2pm * Exhibition opens Friday, June 5, 2026 (6pm to 9pm) - Live music and refreshments, meet and greet artists * Exhibition will be installed in the upper level of the Cornell and on view through Sept. 27, 2026 * Special events, art talks, installations and art demonstrations by regional artists are planned * Application Deadline is May 1, 2026. * Artists will be notified of acceptance by May 5, 2026 * Fee of $25 per artist is due at the time of application submittal to help defray costs * Application must include high-resolution images * Artist gives permission for images to be used by the Cornell Art Museum for exhibition promotions * Must include a brief artist statement explaining the connection of your work to the reflections theme Submissions of all artwork mediums are encouraged, including: 2D painting, photography, works on paper, 3D sculpture, glass, wood, installations, digital art and video, crafts and textiles. Terms & Conditions

By completing this application, artist/vendor acknowledges that they have read and understand the information provided and requirements for participation and agree to the terms herein. INDEMNIFICATION AND HOLD HARMELESS AGREEMENT
By completing this application, Exhibitor shall indemnify, defend and save harmless to the extent of its insurance coverage, the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) and its member entities which consist of the City of Delray Beach (CITY); Business agrees to defend, indemnify and save harmless the Indemnitees, their officers, agents and employees, against any liability arising from or based upon the violation of any federal, state, county or city laws, by-laws, ordinances or regulations, including but not limited Trademark and Copyright Laws by the Contractor, his subcontractors, agents, servants or employees. Business further agrees to defend, indemnify and save harmless the Indemnitees, their officers, agents, or employees from all such claims, fees, and from any and all suits and actions for every name and description that may be brought against the Indemnitees or their officers, agents or employees on account of any claims, fees, royalties, or costs for any invention or patent, and from any and all suits and actions that may be brought against the Indemnitees, their officers, agents or employees for the infringement of any and all patents or patent rights claimed by any person, firm, or corporation.
The indemnification provided above shall obligate the Business to defend, at his/her own expense or to provide for such defense, at the Indemnitees' option, any and all claims or liability and all suits and actions of every name and description that may be brought against the Indemnitees, their officers, agents, or employees which may result from the operations and activities under this Contract whether the work be performed by the Business, his/her subcontractor or by anyone directly or indirectly employed by either. This Indemnification and Hold Harmless Agreement include all costs and fees including attorney's fees and costs at trial and appellate levels.
