About the event

We Invite you to join us for the 2nd Annual Big Gay 5K & 1Mi. Pride Stride! The 5K race will be held Saturday morning, March 21st, 2026 at 9:00 AM. The 1 Mile Pride Stride will begin at 9:45 AM at Ridge Ferry Park in Rome, Georgia. Sign Up here for registration at - direct link click here: The fundraiser is for Rome Pride. We are a nonprofit and any funds we raise go to help the local LGBTQIA+ community. The Big Gay 5K/1Mi. is an event raising funds for Pride (the festival is in June). We encourage people to show their Pride at the race!! We want it to be bright and fun, so people can show their true colors, show their pride, and be themselves in a safe space. All are welcome to participate and have fun! Race Registration Fees: *$30 - 5K - Pre-Registration Entry Fee / $40 Day of Race *$25 -- 1 Mile - Pre-Registration Entry Fee / $35 Day of Race PLEASE NOTE: T-shirt size is Guaranteed if you REGISTER by WEDN., MARCH 11th. (While registration will still remain open until Sun., MARCH 15th, we simply cannot guarantee you get the shirt size you want beyond March 11th.) Register EARLY!! WANT TO SUPPORT THE CAUSE but NOT RUN/WALK THE RACE?? Be 'Ghost Runner' and sign up that way. No shirt, no problem. DONATE to HELP. Race Route / Start-Finish & Parking: * This USATF-Certified 5K Course is scenic and very fast, and meanders through the beautiful Oostanaula River Trails of Rome. * There is plenty of parking near the race's start/finish area at Ridge Ferry Park (Dog Park side, north of RR tracks). Race Day Schedule of Events: 7:30 AM - Race Day Registration Opens 8:45 AM - Race Day Registration Closes 9:00 AM - 5K Start Time 9:45 AM - 1Mi. "Pride Stride" (Fun Run/Walk) 10:15 AM - Awards Presentation for 5K Pre-Registration Packet Pick up: Avoid the crowds and pickup your packet & t-shirt at GoGo Running on Friday, March 20th from 10:00AM--6:00 PM. Location: 1018 Martha Berry Blvd NE, Rome, GA 30165 5K Awards will be given to the following: Top 3 Overall Male and Top 3 Overall Female Winners Top Male Master and Top Female Master Top Male Grandmaster and Top Female Grandmaster Top 3 Male & Female in the following Age Categories: 14-Under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & Over Top Overall Nonbinary Winner Top Masters Nonbinary Winner Top Grandmaster Nonbinary Winner Top Nonbinary in the following Age Categories: 19-Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & Over NOTE: There are no awards for the 1 Mile Pride Stride....this Fun Run/Walk is just for smiles. Please note: this is a rain or shine event. Professional Timing: This race will be chip-timed by Wire2Wire Running, LLC using the latest RFID technology. Results will be posted after the race
