National Walking Day Group Leader
About the application
National Walking Day is every year on the first Wednesday in April and takes place on April 1st this year. National Walking Day is exactly as it sounds — a day to celebrate the easiest way to be the healthiest version of you. Sign up to be a walking group leader now!
All persons wishing to participate as an volunteer walking group leader must submit an application for approval.
Approval is required before promoting or hosting a group walk. Leader applicants be 18+ and must provide an idea or theme for a walk and safe location (i.e. public parks, walking trails, sidewalks, etc.).
Themes can be anything - historical tour, power walking, nature walk, etc. This is a fun, community event to meet your neighbors, encourage health and wellness, and learn new things!

Vendor Release, Indemnity & Hold Harmless Agreement
I fully understand that my participation in the 2026 City of Bastrop National Walk Day presents exposure to the risk of personal injury, death, or property damage. I acknowledge that participation is voluntary and agree to assume all risks.
I hereby release, discharge, and agree not to sue the City of Bastrop, its officials, officers, agents, employees, representatives, or volunteers for any injury, death, or loss of property arising out of or connected with participation in the event, including negligence.
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any claims arising out of my participation, including injuries or damages caused in whole or in part by the intentional acts, negligence, or recklessness of the Released Parties.
I understand participants may be photographed or recorded at the event and grant full permission for such media to be used by the City of Bastrop for promotional purposes.
I certify that I have read the 2026 City of Bastrop National Walking Day guidelines, understand all expectations, and agree to comply with all event rules, instructions, and requirements. I certify all information submitted in this application is true and correct.

- I acknowledge that participation in the 2026 City of Bastrop TX National Walking Day Event (“Event”) is voluntary and involves risk, which I knowingly assume. I release, waive, and agree to hold harmless the City of Bastrop, its officials, employees, agents, and volunteers from any claims or liability arising from my participation, including negligence, and I agree to indemnify the City of Bastrop from any such claims. I grant permission for photos, video, or other media captured during the Event to be used by the City of Bastrop. I certify that I have read and agree to the 2026 City of Bastrop National Walking Day Particpant/Volunteer Guidelines, will comply with all rules, and am responsible for required licenses, permits, and insurance. Typing my full legal name below constitutes my electronic signature and agreement to these terms.
