2026 Artist Application

Artists are invited to apply for our Juried Art Show on Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Piedmont Physic Garden (PPG) in Union, SC. We will award cash prizes and ribbons for first, second and third place winners as well as a People’s Choice award. This is a unique opportunity to display your work, gain visibility and be part of an awesome community event. The non-refundable application fee is $20. The application deadline is Wednesday, April 1. Artists are encouraged to apply early since space is limited. If your application is approved, you may enter one or two pieces for the competition. The event will be held on the grounds of the Piedmont Physic Garden in the heart of downtown Union. Parking is free.

Our guest juror is Todd Baxter. an award winning artist from Rock Hill, SC.

Art Exhibit Eligibility Details

Eligibility: Art must have been created in the past 12 months and must be original. Each artist will be allowed to submit a maximum of two pieces. 

Medium: Oil, watercolors, pastel, pen and ink, acrylic, textiles, college, pencil,  charcoal, mixed media, sculpture and photography are eligible. Sculpture  entries must be accompanied by a secure display pedestal. Sculpture entries must be accompanied by display pedestal. Piedmont Physic Garden reserves the right to exclude any art that does not conform to our standards for quality and taste.

Registration Deadline: Entry forms must be received no later than Wednesday, April 1. Unregistered entries will not be permitted. If accepted, we will email you instructions for the drop-off time and place.

Prohibited: Any art generated by AI tools, AI-assisted art and works created on digital  tablets or using digital rendering software. If requested, artists must be  prepared to provide photos of the work in progress to prove human, non- digital and non-AI creation.

Awards: The Festival will award cash prizes and ribbons for First Place, Second Place, Third Place and a People's Choice Award.

Award Presentations: Ribbons and cash prizes will be presented during the latter part of the afternoon of Saturday, April 18th. Please invite your friends and family to attend. 

Please carefully read the Artist Agreement below. Your signature on the application indicates your confirmation of and commitment to abide by the terms of the Artist Agreement.

Artist Agreement:

All artwork will be housed in a protected environment at the Piedmont Physic Garden. However, the undersigned does hereby release, and forever discharge, and hold harmless, the Piedmont Physic Garden and/or sponsor(s), and any entity and or person(s) from any and all manner of actions, suits, damages or claims of any kind whatsoever arising from any theft, loss or damage to the person or property of the undersigned. There will be no refunds for artist cancellation or inclement weather cancellation. Under no circumstances will the Piedmont Physic Garden and/or sponsor(s), be held responsible for any damage to art work and artists agree to hold them harmless from any and all liability arising out of artist ’s acts and/or omissions. Under no circumstances does the Piedmont Physic Garden and/or its sponsors warrant or guarantee the safety of its art, its contents or individuals

Artist Policy Acceptance
___ I have reviewed the Piedmont Physic Garden policies and agree to abide by what has been outlined.
___ I understand that as an artist participant, I represent the Piedmont Physic Garden and will act as an example to the community, and that I am participating in this event at my own risk. I agree to be responsible for my own safety, protection of belongings and actions. I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Piedmont Physic Garden and/or sponsor(s), or entity holding legal title to the lands upon which this event is being held, from any claims of any kind whatsoever arising from my participation as an artist in this event.
