Performer - Grand Opening (04/11/26)
About the application
This application is for performers, musicians, dancers, sound healers, and other performance-based creatives interested in participating in our upcoming market(s). It is free to perform, but if you would also like to vend, we offer a 50% discounted booth fee for performers who wish to participate in both. We understand times are tough, especially for small business owners. We're willing to work with you! You will receive an email notification if your application is approved.
Accepted performers will receive performance schedules, load-in instructions, and booth assignments (if applicable) at least one week before the event date. All performer applications are thoughtfully reviewed to ensure a balanced, engaging, and high-quality market experience. The application deadline is 02/28/2026 at 11:59 PM.
About the event
Terms & Conditions
By applying to the Northwest Metaphysical Market (NWMM), you agree to the following performer guidelines and expectations (please read):
General Information:
Performers must be 18 years of age or older.
Applications are reviewed for fit, balance, and overall market curation. Acceptance is not guaranteed.
Performers are welcome to perform free of charge.
Performers who wish to participate as vendors in addition to performing will receive a 50% reduced booth fee.
Performance & Booth Spaces:
Performance locations, times, and durations are assigned by NWMM.
Performers who are also vending will be assigned a standard booth space (10’x10’ or 10’x20’, subject to availability).
Corner booth spaces are available for an additional fee (50% reduced if a performer-vendor).
Performer-vendors must bring their own tent, tables, chairs, and displays.
All tents must be properly weighted (minimum 25 lb. per leg REQUIRED, 50 lb. per leg STRONGLY recommended).
Performer-vendors must stay within their assigned space and keep walkways clear.
Set-Up & Tear-Down:
Load-in: 8:15 AM – 10:45 AM
Market Hours: 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Load-out: 5:00 PM – 6:45 PM (no early teardown unless otherwise approved by NWMM in advance).
Performer-vendors must follow their assigned load-in group and time:
Group A (8:15 AM): Park Plaza North Garage, 4th floor skybridge
Group B (8:30 AM): 9th & Broadway
Group C (8:45 AM): 11th & Broadway
Vehicles must be unloaded quickly, immediately moved to appropriate parking, and then return to complete setup.
Performer-vendors must complete setup by 10:45 AM and remain for the entire duration of the market unless otherwise approved.
If a performer-vendor does not arrive by 10:15 AM, their booth may be forfeited without refund, and neighboring vendors may be authorized to spread out.
Performer Parking & Traffic Notes:
To help ease parking concerns in downtown Tacoma on a Saturday (yikes!), FREE, secure-access parking is available for performers, performer-vendors, and volunteers on the top two levels of the Park Plaza North Garage, just steps from the event space, following load-in.
The transit tunnel is NOT available for public parking.
Do NOT park in the “DO NOT ENTER” transit tunnel.
The transit tunnel appears on Google Maps as “Pierce Transit Tunnel”—please be mindful when navigating.
Payments & Refunds:
There is no fee to perform at NWMM.
Performers who elect to vend will be charged a 50% reduced booth fee, which will be automatically charged to the card on file upon approval.
If you prefer to receive an invoice, please indicate this under the “Special Requests” section of the application.
All invoices are due within five (5) days of receipt unless formally communicated and approved.
We understand times are tough, especially for small business owners. We're willing to work with you!
All fees are non-refundable, including for no-shows, mechanical issues, staffing problems, or weather conditions.
Booth spaces are not transferable without prior approval.
Print Materials:
Performers may distribute or display print materials only if they directly relate to their performance or approved vendor offerings. Marketing for individuals or businesses not registered as approved performers or vendors is not permitted.
Products & Compliance (Performer-Vendors):
All products must be safe, lawful, and appropriate for a metaphysical/spiritual artisan market.
CBD/THC product sales are prohibited.
All product prices must be clearly visible.
AI-produced “art” is strictly prohibited.
Counterfeit tarot/oracle decks are strictly prohibited.
Performer-vendors are responsible for their own tax reporting and any required licensing.
A Tacoma Business License is only required if you anticipate earning more than $2,000 in Tacoma during the calendar year.
If you plan to attend just a few Northwest Metaphysical Market (NWMM) events, you do not need to apply for a Tacoma Business License.
However, if you plan to attend four (4) or more NWMM markets, a Tacoma Business License is required, as you are more likely to exceed the $2,000 annual threshold.
If you initially plan to attend only a few markets and later decide you’d like to participate in more, you can apply for the Tacoma Business License at that time and submit a copy to us once it’s approved!
This approach allows vendors flexibility while remaining compliant with City of Tacoma requirements.
A Tacoma business license is $37.50 for a one-year term.
If you don't already have a Tacoma Business License, you can apply here: https://www.filelocal-wa.gov/Default_FileLocal.aspx
Plastic Bag Ban:
All performer-vendors must comply with the City of Tacoma’s plastic bag ban. Single-use plastic carryout bags are not permitted. Only approved paper or compliant reusable bags may be provided. All bag requirements and applicable fees are the responsibility of the performer-vendor.
Conduct & Safety:
Performers must be respectful toward fellow performers, vendors, staff, and attendees.
Keep performance and vending areas tidy and secure—NWMM is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
This event is held rain or shine. Please prepare accordingly.
Leashed pets and service animals are welcome.
Photography:
By participating, you consent to NWMM photographing and recording performances for marketing and promotional purposes.
Non-Discrimination & Zero Tolerance Policy:
NWMM maintains a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination, harassment, or hate. Performers must treat all attendees, staff, and participants with respect and may not discriminate based on race, color, sex, gender identity/gender expression, religion, nationality, creed, marital status, sexual orientation/sexual preference, age, veteran/military status, or handicap. Violations may result in immediate removal without compensation.
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA):
Performers and performer-vendors must keep their assigned areas accessible and free of obstacles so all attendees can safely participate and engage.
Agreement:
By submitting your application, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these terms, which are designed to ensure a smooth, inclusive, and magical Northwest Metaphysical Market experience for all.
