Art Alchemy East invites you to submit to the annual 2026 Pi ART SQUARED (π r 2) SHOW

This year’s show will be during Pi ART Squared Day (3.14 or March 14th) March 12 – 15, 2026

Opening Night: Thursday March 12, 2026, 6:00pm – 10:00pm.

We've all heard about the traditional square foot shows, but no one can put artists in a box! The Artist needs to take materials and transform them, create their own worlds and realities, and now you can do that, in the ROUND.

Pi r-squared (π r 2) is the formula for the area of a circle of radius r. The lowercase Greek letter pi (written π ) stands for the ratio of circumference to diameter, which is the same for all circles because they all have the same shape. I just love the symmetry of that and, so, the original Art Alchemy East Pi ART Squared (π r 2) Exhibition was born!

THE DEETS...

Pi ART Squared is a juried show so please submit images that are high quality with no frames, or extraneous content such as furniture ?

All tondos will sell for $350 (CAD) – this includes shipping to the client. The Artist will keep $250 (this includes your shipping costs). The artist is responsible for getting sold art to the client.

SUBMISSION CRITERIA:  We appreciate that many artists have not worked in the round before, please submit 12” x 12” paintings that are similar to what you anticipate painting on a 12” round panel. 

Please note, our submission process is going through the Eventeny platform – you will need to set up a FREE account in order to submit.

PARTICIPATION FEE: There is no fee to apply - If accepted, you will have to pay $20 + tax/panel and shipping that you are entering into the show. All panels MUST be purchased through our new sponsor – Day and Night Woodworking. All submitted paintings MUST be on Day and Night panels.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Final deadline is January 12, 2026 to submit. This year’s show will be limited to 60 artists. As we have a limited number of spaces in the gallery, 1 – 2 pieces will be accepted to be onsite, the rest you will keep in your studio. Artists are NOT required to send art for the in-person show.

Acceptances will be sent out around January 18th to give you time to order your panels and create your works of art.

1.       Your name, email address and social media handles

2.       How many panels you intend to create (this gives us an idea of how many paintings to expect in the gallery)

3.       3 JPEGs of your work (please ensure each image less than 3MG to ensure it is received)

4.       Website

5.       Instagram 

6.       Your location (Province/State)

7.       Regular price of a 12” x 12” artwork

IF ACCEPTED: You will need to confirm you will be participating and how many panels you need. We will send the approved artist list to Day and Night so that you can be sure to get your discount when you order. Panels are only $20 each – a substantial discount from their usual price for all artists participating in Pi ART Squared. Please work directly with Day and Night for shipping – we encourage you to connect with other local artists to bulk ship. There will be an ability to pick up panels at Art Alchemy for Toronto artists.
