Community Connect: February 11
About the application
Gwinnett’s 2026 Black History Month celebration is seeking community partners to participate in our Community Connections component.
Community Connections highlights organizations that actively serve, support, or engage the community in Gwinnett. Partners help enrich the celebration by creating visually engaging and culturally relevant displays that contribute to the overall theme of the event. While organizations may share informational materials about their services, the primary focus is to enhance the celebration through displays that honor Black history, culture, and the 2026 theme.
APPLICATION PROCESS
When you apply, you will be prompted to create an account with your basic information. This will allow you to update your profile and track the status of your application throughout the approval process.
Eligible Community Partners
Organizations whose work supports community engagement, cultural education, or community well-being, including:
• Health and wellness organizations
• Nonprofit agencies
• Faith-based organizations
• Educational institutions
• Community development organizations
• Cultural or heritage-based groups
Partner Expectations
If selected, your organization will be provided with a table space. Your display must prominently feature materials related to the 2026 Black History Month celebration and/or event theme, such as cultural artifacts, visual displays, posters, or educational and historical elements.
You may also include brochures or informational items about your organization, as long as they support — not replace — the celebration-themed display.
As a Community Connections partner, you will be able to:
• Engage directly with Gwinnett residents
• Share your organization’s mission, role, and impact
• Help elevate the event experience through meaningful cultural representation
Timeline
Application approvals will occur between January 19 and January 22. All applicants will be notified following the review period. If selected, you may be asked to submit recent photos for promotional purposes.
