About the registration
This is going to be our biggest event to date! Be sure to get your application and donation fee submitted asap to secure your spot - we will be on a waiting list before we even start promoting the event to the public!
Whether you have cooked with us before or are a new competitor - be sure to read over all of the details so you know what to prepare for as a Pit Master. This event is all about the BBQ and family fun for everyone to raise money for #scneedshelp.
There will be a judge’s choice and a people’s choice winner, complete with a trophy, cash prizes and priceless bragging rights. The public will purchase an all you can sample wristbands for a $25 donation. We provide you with the pork butt, papergoods and provide space for you to cook/serve/compete and market your food, services and commit to our community.
About the event
Terms & Conditions
- $125 Donation will need to be submitted with your application once we have approved your entry.
- All teams will be assigned a team number and will receive a case of Bone-in Boston Butts on Thursday, March 26th at the “Pick ya Butts Up” Happy Hour at the Boathouse from 4:00pm-7:00pm.
- Cook on gas. Cook on wood. Cook on site (There will be NO POWER). Cook at home. It does not matter to us. Cook the entire case of butts. Have it hot at 11:45 on Saturday. Turn in at 12:30. Please do not serve BBQ any other way than the provided 3oz portion cups. NO SANDWICHES OR PLATES
- All teams will get a 10x10 area in the parking lot of the Boathouse.
- Please bring your own tent, chairs, table, serving dish and utensils to cook with.
- We will provide the portion cups, forks, and napkins for serving.
- Please submit your business/restaurant/team logo if you have one - we will be providing marketing exposure for you at the event.
- Load in for cooks and retail vendors will be from 8:00am – 9:30am. We do not accept late arrivals, there are too many logistics for an event like this.
- The event space will be closed off to ALL vehicle traffic at 10AM sharp so be sure to have everything you need moved in and out.
- You must be set up and ready to go by 11:30am
- All cooks must be compliant with current DHEC off site festival regulations. We can provide you a copy of those rules if needed. (Water, sanitizer and gloves at your station)
