We're looking for local musicians to help showcase and support Winston-Salem's music scene during market hours and beyond.
OUR IDEAL MUSICIANS
- Musicians that help create an inclusive and fun shopping experience for our patrons
- Duos or solo acts motivated to help promote their show via social media (sharing The Alleys promotional posts, etc)
- Duos or solo acts with a mix of original material and covers
- Established local bands/musicians
- Acts of all ages/generations
We are not currently searching for DJs at this time.

BEFORE YOU BOOK
Once approved, you must read over your musician packet provided in the approval email.
EQUIPMENT
Musicans must bring all equipment they may need for their performance (instruments, microphones, amps, etc.) The Alley is able to provide a single PA speaker if needed.
SELF BOOKING
The Alley operates with a self-booking system that allows artists to take full control of how they utilize the space. Once approved, musicians may book as often as they'd like.
THINGS TO NOTE:
- If you sell merch, you will be solely responsible for collecting payment and sales tax (if applicable). The Alley will NOT take any percentage of your sales.
- Feel free to have a tip jar.
- If chosen, any participant under 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian.
If you're selected to be an Alley Market Musician, you'll be notified via email. In the email, you'll receive a musician packet and a password with directions on how to self-book your days.
The Alley of the Arts Makers Market is a small free-to-attend weekly event new to Winston-Salem. Unlike traditional music venues, The Alley does not make additional revenue from food or alcohol. Our current pay rate is $40/hr at market (higher rates are available for evening ticketed events). As we grow, the market pay rate will grow as well. We appreciate you wanting to be here from the very beginning. Each performance will be on Saturdays from 12-4pm with as many breaks as needed. We welcome and encourage tip jars.
