Cosplay Contest Judge

What began as the beloved Free Comic Book Day event has grown into a full convention experience. And this year, in honor of our 10-year partnership with Galactic Quest, we’re celebrating with a new name and a fresh new look for the event! Celebrate with us and dive into DTL CON-Quest!

Last year, our event saw over 10000 people throughout the day. We hosted panels and workshops, had a cosplay competition, filled the downtown streets with roaming characters and music, hosted an improv comedy show, and had over 45 vendors celebrating a multitude of fandoms. But the most important thing to know about our award-winning family-friendly event is that it is FREE to the public.  

What We Look for in a Cosplay Contest Judge:
•    Individuals who can appeal to a family-friendly crowd. 
•    Individuals who are able to encourage others to compete in the cosplay contest. (We prefer guests who live within a reasonable driving distance of our event, but are open to those who live a little further as well.)
•    Works well with our staff, other cosplay guests and judges, and of course our attendees.
•    Reliable, punctual, good communication with our staff.

•    Individuals who will encourage others to come out and enjoy the event. 

 What We Typically Ask For:
•    All cosplay guest and judge cosplays must be appropriate for a family-friendly environment. 

•    Be present during the entire event. Load-in is at 9:00 am. The event occurs between 10:00 am– 5:00 pm. (A 30-minute break and lunch will be provided.)

• A Completed cosplay to display in our Cosplay Gallery

•  Promotional Social Media content following guidelines provided by the City of Lawrenceville in the terms and conditions.

What We Typically Provide:
•   An appearance fee. This is an all-inclusive amount.

•   T-shirt and Lunch

Social Media Requirements Pre-Event and Post-Event: 

• 1 Collaborative Instagram Post one month prior to the event (4/02/26)
• 1 Instagram Post one week prior to the event (exact date will be assigned by 4/02/26)
  • • This image will be curated by the city and sent to you by 4/02/26 and will include a photo of you or your organization with the DTL CON-Quest logo 
• You will need to provide 3-4 quality images to us by (3/27/26)
• 2-4 Instagram Stories on the Day of the event (5/02/26)
• 1 Post after the event (within 5-7 days)  
• Use the following hashtag when posting:

• Tag both accounts or invite the following for collaboration on all posts or stories on Instagram:

    • @cityoflawrenceville 

Obligations During Pre-Event and Post-Event Periods:
 
During the period beginning thirty (30) days prior to the Event (“Pre-Event Period”) and ending thirty (30) days following the conclusion of the Event (“Post-Event Period”), you agree to monitor all social media channels, digital platforms, and online communities under its control that reference, promote, or are associated with the Event. As the Event is family-friendly, you shall be attentive to the presence of content inconsistent with family-appropriate standards. 
 
Identification and Archiving of Inappropriate Content 
You shall identify and securely archive any content—including posts, comments, images, videos, messages, or user-generated materials—that constitutes Inappropriate Content, defined as content that: 
(a) contains obscene, vulgar, sexually explicit, graphic, or adult-oriented material inappropriate for a family-friendly environment; 
(b) includes discriminatory, harassing, threatening, or otherwise offensive language or imagery; 
(c) depicts violence, illegal activity, or dangerous conduct unsuitable for general audiences; 
(d) violates applicable law or platform policy; 
(e) misrepresents the Event, the Organizer, or affiliated entities; or 
(f) may reasonably be expected to harm the reputation, safety, or family-friendly character of the Event. 
 
Archiving Requirements 
All identified Inappropriate Content shall be archived without alteration, including preservation of metadata where technically feasible. You shall maintain the archived material in a secure, accessible format for no fewer than twelve (12) months, or for a longer period if required by law or requested in writing by the Event Organizer. 
 
Access and Production 
Upon written request, you shall provide the Event Organizer with access to or copies of archived Inappropriate Content within five (5) business days. All such materials shall be treated as confidential unless disclosure is required by law. 
 
Preservation of Evidence 
You shall not delete, destroy, or otherwise modify any archived content that may be relevant to a legal, compliance, reputational, or investigatory matter involving the Event. 
 
Notes: 
 Posts, Reels, and Stories are up to your creative choosing, but must be relevant to the event with topics such as announcing your presence at the event with the date and time, the activity or panel you are leading,  the cosplay you are working on for the event, sharing your experience the day of the event, getting the community excited to join you at the event, and sharing about your experience after the event. We welcome you to share more than what is listed above as long as it is relevant to DTL CON-Quest. 
 
 All requirements for the event must be met to receive full payment within 7-10 days after the event.  You are agreeing to the following: 

• All cosplay guests and judges' costumes must be appropriate for a family-friendly environment. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to ask.  

This is not an official booking. Judges will receive a message once approved.
